The narrative that an election where Biden flipped two solid R states (Arizona and Georgia) was a tight one is a bit bizarre to me. Sure, some of the margins in the winning states were close, and the amount of votes that Trump got is frightening to say the least, but a Democrat taking solid R states in addition to key swing states is really not that close. It's quite substantial.

1/ The General Services Administration formally recognized Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election – more than two weeks after securing the electoral votes necessary to win the White House. Emily Murphy, the Trump appointee who runs the GSA, faced weeks of criticism from Democrats, national security, and health experts, who argued that delaying the formal transition was hampering the incoming Biden administration from receiving classified briefings and preparing for the distribution of a coronavirus vaccine. 3/ A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit brought by Trump’s campaign seeking to block the certification of Pennsylvania’s election results. Judge Matthew Brann wrote that Trump’s campaign, which had asked him to disenfranchise nearly seven million voters, should have come to court “armed with compelling legal arguments and factual proof of rampant corruption” in its efforts to essentially nullify the results. The Trump campaign had claimed there were widespread improprieties with mail-in ballots in the state. Well a large chunk of society hasn't yet gotten to the point where they recognize that Obama was a bad president who stabbed his base in the back, and he's still actively taking advantage of his popularity to achieve political goals, so yes it matters.

It's definitely surprising seeing him admit that he never understood or sympathized with the people he targeted and asked to vote for him, though.

If the majority of Democrats saw this:

Between him stealing an election, stumbling into both the War On Terror & Iraq (which of course bled over into Obama's presidency), poor response to Katrina, him presiding over numerous death sentences as Governor of Texas, his ties to Enron, him being one of the key names responsible for the Financial Crisis of 2008.

Not much to feel sorry for him over.

I'm sorry but the whole "the other president did it worse so my shit don't stink" argument doesn't hold water here. What matters is that drone strikes were done and had killed civilians in the process to which the president can be held accountable for. This is something that Obama and Trump will have on their heads for the rest of their lives.

Yeah, you're not going to get a lot of traction with that stance.

Obama wasn't a great amazing all time best president, no. He made mistakes and did bad things, yes. But considering everything he inherited from Bush, and that includes Iraq and Afghanistan and the market crash, he did pretty good. He also stomped three different plague outbreaks that no one remembers because he actually took care of them. He's probably the best one we've had within the lifetime of most of the forum members here, and certainly within the time any of us have been eligible to vote.
ANd not to make it a race thing, but yes, being a black man, does in an of itself, elevate him some. There is an achievement and healing there and some forward progress for the country, and that's going to be significant. He managed to pass universal healthcare, even if it is a tainted version.

He was clean and scandal free and did so well at fixing the economy Trump was able to coast his first three years off his success before causing a crash worse than Bush's recession and worse than the great depression..

This is whataboutism and Obama shouldn't get off the hook for his mistakes just because the president who came after him was worse.

Obama doesn't get a free pass no, and he's not one of the greats, but you have to stretch pretty far to call him "bad". All the presidents, ALL of them, going back to Washington, fucked up somewhere and have massive blights on their record, some in massive ways, but its inarguable that some have done WAY better than others.
