If 2024 is also Biden vs Trump, would it be the first time the same two candidates as a previous presidential election are the choices, or has it happened before?

Id put my money on bolsonaro or puttin. The draft dodger and the bus driver Don’t have combat experience, but maduro doesn’t look like he’d die if his heartbeat got near an excercise rhythm. poh and modi don’t seem particularly sturdy. Edrogan is the wild card.

Spain wanabee facist, sorry “franquist”, is jacked, he probably could win the thing, while Chavez Spanish understudy looks like shaggy in the Congress, so at least he can run.

All I'm saying is the CIA killed Kennedy for less.
I bet on the ex KGB, even if he was a desk jockey at that time, he is swole for his age and a judo patrician. Bolsonaro got kicked out of the army as captain for planning inside terrorism in protest for the low payments of the military class post dictatorship, the big has been fattened by 30 years as a corrupt politician.

Nah it was the mob with the help of the cubans expatriates, in revolt for failure at Bay of Pigs.![]()
Don’t worry if he does in fact have Parkinson’s he’ll do the job much easier.
Death Match or Death Metal I don’t think anyone wants to see these old, wrinkly, pudgy assholes rocking guitars, drums, and singing face burning lyrics, they’ve been responsible for enough deaths as is
Also some rather unfortunate news regarding how many LGBTQ voters went for Trump

Florida governor Rob DeSantis has drafted a law that would allow citizens to kill looters in an expansion of the state's "Stand Your Ground" law.
On the subject of dictator death matches I remember when I first heard Bolsonaro's name I pictured someone tall, muscular, and tan because the name sounds bold and strong. Then I looked him up and he looks like a grumpy Mitt Romney.

Jefferson and John Adams in 1792 and 1796. (different winners both times)
Jackson and Quincy Adams in 1824 and 1828.
Van Buren and Harrison in 1836 and 1840. (different winners both times)
Harrison and Cleveland in 1888 and 1892. (different winners both times)
McKinly and Bryan in 1900 and 1904.
So it used to happen a lot when the country was smaller and there were more parties, (Thats 10 out of 26 elections) but not in 120 years.
Some other presidents and contenders have run twice (sometimes non consecutively) but not against the same people.
Biden has stated pretty clearly that he's old and doesn't want to run twice. If that holds up once he's actually held office, or if he dies in the next four years, or if he willingly hands it to Kamala we'll have to see, but being incumbent has a LOT of power to it and the party might not want hi mto if Reps good a good candidate and his approval is high..

I started by putting down the weird anomolies that ran twice but then when I went further back and realized there actually were a bunch of repeat matches I took out the misc stuff. I'd known Adams and Jefferson went twice but not the others.

He has not said anything in clear terms. We got some hints from advisors who have not said anything publicly that he will not run again if things work out well enough that he won't have to. A very weak GOP nom, a great 4 years and of course a strong heir in Harris. Oh and if his health is not great in 4 years, that's one thing he hinted at.
But no way would he clearly say he will be just a lame duck. And yes, being an incumbent is very good so I say as long as his health is okay, he should run again and ensure we keep the White House for 8 years at the very least.
I know it was like 24 hours ago when I was advocating for calm, and nothing more than cacophonous noise has come from the White House and only people of poor moral fiber, and no one with any decision power take these accounts seriously. But if the transition team would form and start working, it would be nice.

I can't say I know a lot about american history, but I think Dewey lost to Truman because Dewey was so ahead in polling that people thought they didn't need to vote. So they didn't vote. And Truman won.
And losing to Roosevelt is no big deal. The guy is one of the most iconic POTUS of all time.
It really amazes me how all populist politicians behave exactly the same when theiy meet with defeat.
Accusations of electoral fraud with no evidence
Asking for monetary support to their cult
plain denial to give power away
The Back To The Future meme of "Hey I've seen this one" keeps showing up in my mind at all times, while Trump cultist literally come up with the "what do you mean you have seen it, it's brand new" line.
