Speaking of cover arcs, first I agree that Ace's story would be a good prequel to his fight with Blackbeard. However, I think the cover story that has a great chance of being animated is Miss Goldenweeks. I mean, it has the characters from the best arc in it, so that should warrant it being animated despite the failings of the past animated cover arcs. That is unless the Baroque Works crew is extremely unpopular in Japan.

And yeah, it'd make sense for Ace's too be done too considering he'll be showing up again anyways.

Well, they had no problem showing Usopp and Luffy's asses in the bath scene, if I remember right. I wouldn't worry. Though if it does happen, I'd hope for good, Austin Powers-esqe censorship.

Well if you consider how good one piece has been in terms of filler
I can see them being more likely to stagger the release schedual rather then insert a giant filler arc (like naruto or bleach). But again there's also the posisbility they'll simply stretch out each chapter into a full episode (typically for most anime an episode is 2 or 3 chapters) which should widen the gap substantially. If there is a filler I can see it revolving around Franky so viewers can start to relate to him as a SH crew member.

They probably iwll show Franky w no pants on, but no in-front shots. It was really funny with that. I remember that one time at Baroque Works where Nami did Happiness Punch, there was a misdrawing where it showed a boob. I hope they don't misdraw the Franky scene.

I agree that Toei mustn't stay that close to the manga, but judging the current stuff on Thriller Bark, I don't think they will get too close even after finishing Enies Lobby/Water 7.

..... the next episode shall be Luffy defeating (right?) Lucci. Mmmmaybe they will show Merry quickly, or there will be another episode before Merry and the goodbye... there also shall be some 2 episodes, mixing the new ship and the revelation of Garp, Coby and Helmeppo... hmm. yeah then it'll be near Thriller Bark.

Or maybe I confused everything (more than I thought I would) and everything is wrong. Whoot.

Then an episode of the Galley La telling Luffy Merry is gonna die, and then a Merry Apperciation episode. Then the next episode Merry is burned, and then the events of Koby n Garp happen for a few episode along with some Filler for the entire week, like 7 episodes of Fillers there. And then I can see an episode of just everything guessing what the new ship will look like; The Straw Hats, and even some of the other characters(who didn't work on the ship)
like the mermaid and her granddaughter. Hopefully they some of the Chapter Stories, it would work after finding out their bouties after showing their support characters see their bounties they can take a while to go back to the main cast.

Looking at other fillers from previous episodes, I'm guessing again for those next three days while Luffy is sleeping there is gonna be a Franky building the ship filler as well as the Strawhats having certain episodes about them and their "talent"
Like Chopper will have a doctor episode
Sanji will go up against some female cook
Nami will look up stuff for maps
Usopp donning the Sogeking mask again/making up ways to join SHs again.
Luffy probably wont have one nor will Zoro or Robin.

Whoo boy, lot's of things to do with this post.

First off, Lucchi is more than likely not dead. As no one seems to die in the present in One Piece.

Stretching is one thing, but they can't fill an entire episode (even with recaps) as just Luffy laying down. And it by no means will take an episode for them to escape, even filled with filler. An entire episode of Iceberg telling them about Merry? That was 7 panels max man, no way can it become a full episode.

The Merry appreciation episode I can see.

Ah yes, Fillers are inevitable. However look at it this way. What would we rather have, some new content with fresh adventures or have a long hiatus. One Piece did something very unique with Water 7/Enies Lobby. They took many many week breaks for the arc. That was pretty good instead of alot of fillers. Now the next comment should start the flames. They should hire the Bleach Filler team, excluding the three mod souls the arc was honestly pretty darn impressive for a filler arc. Decent villains, a decent story and such. It wasn't one crappy three part filler like Naruto did. We should be lucky that Toei or any anime company doesn't put pressure on the mangka by putting out fillers. As long as they aren't as bad as Goat Sex I'm sure it will be ok.

Also, think about it. If you had never read the manga before (if no one had) then there wouldn't be such as thing as fillers. Try to view it as that, more fleshing out of the world that we love.

I can't see how you saw the bleach filler as good. All it did was make all the characters look emo and crap because they got owned. It's even worse that they think they need to keep bringing them back into the story during an arc which is actually in the manga. I actually shout at my computer when ever those three teddies appear for no reason and tell them to jog on.

Anyway back on topic I think they should do some fillers of other characters in the grand line. It would be cool to see what Smoker or Buggy has been up to while the Straw Hats have been around saving lands from destruction.
