That was great. King Kong but in reverse! Dibbler was just a vehice for mocking studio interference in hollywood culture. I cracked up when he tried to introduced subliminal advertising. I really loved Moving Pictures.

So far Reaper Man has been ho-hum but all the wizard antics in trying to deal with the dead wizard have been hilarious. Especially Ridcully who is shaping up to be one of my favorite characters.

Finished Moving Pictures. It's one of my more favorite novels of his mostly because I'm a film buff and the book was such a hilarious satire of the film industry that covered everything from movie production to product placement to celebrity status. I had a great time reading it. I'm 70 pages into Reaper Man now which is fine so far, the themes of accepting your time to die is interesting though I'm not TOO into it so far.

You can still do it Daz. We still have yet to see if Komamura can even talk or if the guy with the sunglasses is basically carting along a completely powerless, mute and non-intelligent fox.

Anyways good luck with the move.

I was even prepared to allow them to have Naruto and Bleach if they're just biased towards Jump, but FT is so ridiculously stock and repetitive that I'm amazed that people who supposedly saw OP and Cowboy Bebop (of which I've only seen one episode due to the station that ran it no longer being accessible to me atm and they haven't shown it in years anyway) would not but FT above or toe to toe with either.

And did you already know about Kubo's furniture fetish ? I imagine you'd have made some kind of response if you didn't when it came up recently :O

Oh shit, I actually missed the point of that scene. But come to think of it, it did undermine Vetinari's stance that everyone is a selfisha sshole wanting more. Goddamn, I gotta go quickly reread that scene.

I have not read Men at Arms. The Vimes novels I've read are Guards! Guards!, Fifth Elephant, Night Watch and Thud as well as his cameo in Going Postal and the Truth. Looking for ward to reading all of them. I've had Snuff on my shelf for over a year.

Yeah, lol. It's a bit stressful how so many people have said they're looking forward to what I have to say about it, especially since most of it is probably going to be rather controversial in terms of how people have interpreted some aspects of the recent story way differently than I have.

But yeah, you hit the nail on the head there. This is something I've been wanting to do for almost three months now but that I've never found the courage nor the motivation to do before, so this is the perfect opportunity to get it out. And if all goes well, it'll spawn some actually interesting discussion too.

Yep, it was great. What I really liked was how Vimes turnaround was so natural. He got invested in the case and in his love of the city and just stopped drinking because his mind was so into it. Pretty great stuff. The Dragon being female and just eloping with the small dragon was a bit wtfish but overall, a fantastic read. It's not in my league of supreme great Disc World novels but its up there.

I'm only 50 pages away from finishing the next novel, Eric. It's a fun, light read, it's nothing epic like the plot heavy books but sometimes the fun, light breathers where we just explore the world and Pratchett's bizarre sense of humour is all we need.

    After this, it's Moving Pictures!

Mmh, I've soon written 5 pages/3500 words of this so-called analysis of mine and I haven't even reached the halfway point yet. This is going to take all eternity to finish.
