    God I hate dog-killer-raising Huckabee.

It sucks too because the whole "let's infer Trump wants more than 2 terms" is shit just to rile up the Republican base. They test the waters of it because they know that

    1. Certain hardcore Trump people absolutely DO want that
    2. Certain hardcore Trump people, while they may want it, see this just as "owning the libs, watch them outrage"

And not to be upstaged, but Moscow Mitch has said he'll continue to coordinate with Trump directly and ensures that "Trump will not be removed".

Don't you love a world where the accused criminal gets to coordinate with his jury?

If anything, this Administration has exposed very huge flaws in the balance of powers in the government.

Not under current attitudes. I'm not in favor of any revolution unless the American people are willing to distance themselves from partisanship and are willing to be more open to collective resolution through good logic.

Biden warns that Boris Johnson's victory shows dangers of parties leaning too far left – The leading 2020 contender told donors that the UK election holds lessons for the White House race.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2019/1...lection-084359

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday sought to draw parallels between the results of the United Kingdom’s general election and the 2020 White House race — arguing that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s resounding victory should warn Democrats against veering too far left in their fight to defeat President Donald Trump.

“Boris Johnson is winning in a walk,” Biden, a leading Democratic presidential candidate, told attendees of a campaign fundraiser in San Francisco. The prime minister’s Conservative Party captured an overwhelming parliamentary majority in Thursday’s election, taking dozens of seats in Britain’s House of Commons from opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party.

Predicting news headlines reporting the thumping by Johnson’s Tories, Biden said: “Look what happens when the Labour Party moves so, so far to the left. It comes up with ideas that are not able to be contained within a rational basis quickly.”

Biden went on to assert that the prime minister’s triumph would change public perceptions regarding Trump’s odds of re-election. “You’re also going to see people saying, ‘My God, Boris Johnson, who is kind of a physical and emotional clone of the president, is able to win,'” he said.

Biden has advanced a more moderate political ideology throughout the Democratic primary, criticizing sweeping policy proposals from the field’s leading progressive contenders, Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.

The vast majority of the party and the broader electorate, Biden has claimed, are not as liberal as those candidates would suggest, and instead are seeking a sense of national unity in a post-Trump era and a restoration of America’s role on the world stage.

From What the Fuck Just Happened Today (I'll do a more thorough dump later):

The House Judiciary Committee voted over Republican objections to advance two articles of impeachment accusing Trump of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. In back-to-back votes, the Democratic-controlled committee adopted each charge against Trump by a margin of 23 to 17. The Judiciary Committee spent two days debating the articles, including a marathon 14-hour hearing yesterday, which Chairman Jerrold Nadler abruptly recessed before midnight without a vote. Deliberations today lasted less than 10 minutes. A full House vote is expected next week, and if either charge is approved, Trump would become the third American president to be impeached. Trump remained defiant on Twitter, insisting he had done "NOTHING wrong" and called Democrats "the Party of lies and deception!"

Brois Johnson got about 40% of the vote among 7 parties... but due to screwed up gerrymandering there too he's getting control of like 65% of the seats. Its insane, just like the US.

A sizable portion of the media spends twenty-four hours a day telling that that the other guy is worse. Note that said sizable portions of the media in both countries are controlled by the same person.
    Complicating things since 2009.

I just want to say that Trump and BoJo deserve each other.

Britain voted for an opportunistic asshole to finally solve an issue that is literally tearing the country apart, down to families and friends. Because no matter how bad Johnson might be, you can absolutely count on him getting that soft Brexit done now. The same soft Brexit that was negotiated by Theresa May, who was torn apart for it and had to resign with tears in her eyes. But Johnson was able to sell it to the actual far right nutters due to his antics and "credibility" when it comes to Brexit in general - even if he himself also doesn't give a fuck as long as he wins his political games.

Maybe things could have turned out differently if Labour would have campaigned offensively for Remain, effectively turning the election into a second referendum, but Corbyn himself is/was pro Brexit! He had zero credibility, and the prospect of more delays and more elections (followed by even more negotiations) sounded more like a threat than anything.

I can absolutely comprehend why people voted for Johnson, hell maybe I would have done the same if I had to endure this shit on a daily basis for THREE YEARS.

Now what's going on in the US is a different thing, and from here I'm just having such a hard time to comprehend the Democrats in general. I know that people want to be the good guys and thus the candidate has to be picture perfect, I would want that as well in any "regular" election. But if the very real alternative is 4 more years of fucking Trump then I don't know what to think anymore. This isn't a game, people actually died because of one of his numerous fuckups.
Is it really so hard to rally behind one moderate candidate with the best chances to win and then just go from there? Ignore the awful, but swallowable flaws and just "get it done"?

Yeah, the common consensus I'm seeing is that this was a "single issue" election.
Brexit Brexit Brexit. No one gave a shit about any other policies this time.

So many people just want us to get this over with and leave already, so they're throwing their vote at the person who intends to do it.
Even some of my brother's friends were trying to get him to vote conservative, because Brexit Brexit Brexit.

There's a fever pitch of the public being like "HURRY UP AND DO IT ALREADY, I'M OVER THIS"

Which is a mess in itself.

If it were easy you wouldn't have needed to ask that question.
