Thread: Areebee behind the mask

  1. #1

    Default Areebee behind the mask

Yet another cosplayer joins the ranks!
I've only cosplayed twice so far but I have a lot more planned. Alot of them involves masks which I love making, hence the title.

    First up is my Sanji:
    Spoiler:

I teamed up with Morgan for the photos. The wig still need a little styling, but otherwise it's done.

This one I did when I was bored one day, and YES I am completely aware that the hair/eyebrow are at the wrong sides. I realised as soon as I'd wiped off the makeup.

My second cosplay isn't One Piece but I'll post it anyway.
    Spoiler:

Jack Skellington! With my friend Tina as Sally

Photo taken by Zarsu @ deviantart.com

Closeup of the mask last winter. It was so cold.

Critique and pointers will gladly be taken!

This year I'm definately planning to make Brook. I've got others planned but he's still the only one I'm sure of so far.

Thank you Porche, I'll make sure to tell her you said "WOW" xD
The socks was actually Morgans idea and I thought it was quite hilarious and went with it.

Oh Morgan, don't tell me you haven't done stupid things for cosplay reasons. ;P

I think it's about time I update this thread. I'm currently making a Brook cosplay for a con in November. Right now I'm working on the mask, which I'll post some pictures of later.
I don't think I'll have the time to make his sword, so to make up for that I'm thinking of painting a normal cane and make either his teacup or tone dial.

No.. What makes you believe that? Did I make some kind of grammar mistake?

Anyways, for your eyes only AP, progress pictures!

    Spoiler:

It's almost finished, I just need to make the final adjustments and then I'm going to make a mould.
I really wanna do my best, so feel free to point out anything that looks off.

Areebee, I think the post about "seeing into the future" was regarding your earlier sanji pic
    Spoiler:
with the hair/eyebrow on the opposite side, which is how he wears it post time-skip.

Niiiice, it looks like you're doing some good progressing on Brook. Can't wait! So, you're going to do a mould? Interesting, I oughta come over and see it, maybe we could work something out with my Ryuma too. I got some ideas to discuss as well.
Be sure to take more in-progress shots!

@Ewing - ohhh, now I get it, thanks xD

Omni, MoonNeko and Morgan, thanks I'm glad you like it. I'll be sure to post more as I go along.
The idea is ot make a mould from the clay model and then use the mold to make the mask I'm going to wear. Also, the jaw is going to follow my own jaws movement so It'll go up and down as I "Yohohoho!" ;P

Time is short, but yes come to my house and talk about pirates and zombies :D

You are awesome for making your own mask. Looks great so far.

What are you going to make the mold and actual mask from?

The mold is going to be made of plaster and the mask will be made of some kinda foam latex that I've forgotten the actual name of.

Sorry, Areebee :p Ewing got what I was talking about XD
It's okay, I didn't even think of that picture xD
