  1. I rather like when they cross the lines. Play with genre conventions, crossovers, all that. It makes things a lot more interesting.
  2. Oh yeah, for sure. I definitely do mind a bit of anything as long as it's good but I'd rather the lines were a bit more defined so that it knows it's doing, where it's going and when it's breaking the rules. Still, each to their own.
  3. Really? Why? I couldn't care less about genres, as long as the music/movie is good.

I do watch a lot of films though. It's just, for every movie I watch, two are added to the list :D But you're right I should probably put some time in the classics first.
  4. I dunno, I'd call genre classifying extremely important. Particularly with music but thats just me. I always think it's important that people should know where the boundaries are and what they should be.

Your really missing out if you havent seen many of those films though. If your into your movies then definitely make time! I've been going back through loads of classics that I've missed or havent seen in years with the Mrs recently and that's been a good laugh.
  5. Oh, I don't really care about genre classifying. Some get really blurry :)
And I know all too well I should see those movies. I have a really long list of films I still have to see, but I rarely find the time or opportunity to watch them.
  6. I'd call Star Wars more of a fantasy film. Sci-fantasy at best. I do like Star Wars but it's in no way one of my favourites. How is it possible that you havent seen Back To The Future? Those films were a major part of my childhood. If you havent seen anything on that list I suggest you do so immediately.
  7. To my shame I have to tell you the only movies from that list I've seen are Inception and 2001. Most of the others are on my watchlist though.
I like that too. And, no Star Wars?
  8. Right then lets have a look at the old dvd shelf. This is just some of my favourites.

    2001: A Space Odyssey
Back To The Future (II is probably my favourite)
    Planet of the Apes (1968)
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
    The Abyss
    The Terminator
    The Thing

I tend to like Sci-Fi thats a bit more clever than you'd first expect. What may seem like a stupid action movie like The Terminator ends up being a lot more lore driven than you'd initally think.
  9. Haha. That's alright, you can also name a few if you like, I just wanted to know your taste :). I too have trouble deciding what my "favourite" movie is.
  10. Oh man, that's a difficult one. I could probably get it down to a top 10 in no particular order but I don't know if I could pick just a single one.
