The Build Up

In a bit of foolishness and weakness, Usopp lost most of the money the crew acquired in Skypiea to the local Franky Family of Water Seven. Even as he was beaten half to unconsciousness he claimed that he couldn't face the crew, and in feeling responsible raided the Franky Family's home. He was beaten severely and left for dead outside the house, where the other males of the crew discovered him.

Usopp had wanted to fix the Going Merry greatly before all of it happened, and knowing that it couldn't be done -- and that Usopp had nearly died protecting the money that could have done it -- Luffy and the group ready for the coming battle.

The Action

The Frankies are surprised when their door, opened by one of their own, caves in from a single blow. As the four strongest men of the Straw Hat crew stand before them, one of the Franky Family steps up to finish the fight. He makes the ridiculously major mistake of insulting Usopp, and so Luffy blasts him with a Gomu Gomu Cannon attack: That single blow broke open solid steel armor! The Frankies then fire off a few cannon salvos, but Zoro cleaves them all effortlessly.

By now the Family has begun to flee the building, yet they are stopped by Sanji and Chopper, who clear them out with ease. Zambai, the second leader of the Frankies, attempts to reconcile the situation but ends with a fist in his face. The Strawhats menacingly declare that there "won't even be bones left" after they've finished. The Frankies attack once again, but of course, even with a force fifty-strong they lose pitifully.

The Aftermath

The Strawhats linger in the ruins of the Franky House, discussing their options. It's then that Luffy announces his decision: They will give up the Merry and continue on. That choice leads to a fight with Usopp, and eventually a mano-a-mano duel between crewmates. The next day, it's announced that Iceburg-san was shot.
