Short Summary
With the help of some lapahn, Luffy manages to get past Wapol and starts climbing up the mountain toward the castle. Usopp, Vivi, and Zoro meet up again after the avalanche and return to Bighorn, where Wapol's soldiers say that Dalton has been killed. Zoro takes down the soldiers for a warm coat, and the villagers begin attempting to dig up Dalton. Luffy reaches the top of the mountain and collapses, but Chopper brings in Luffy, Sanji, and Nami to be treated by Kureha.
In-Depth Summary
The episode begins with Wapol saying he will chew up Luffy for bringing humiliation to him. He says that Nami and Sanji look dead. Luffy starts to walk away, so Wapol says that he will make a new law - that anyone who ignores the king will be executed. He orders Chess and Kuromarimo to attack, to kill the sick and injured ones first. As Luffy avoids Kuromarimo's attack, he recalls Sanji telling him that Luffy himself can't attack for Nami's safety. Luffy takes off running, barely avoiding Chess's arrows. Wapol then emerges from the snow ahead of Luffy to devour him, and Kuromarimo and Chess attack from both sides. As they are about to strike down Luffy, two lapahn arrive and knock Chess and Kuromarimo down. Chess says that lapahn never take to humans, but Luffy sees the mother lapahn he rescued before and understands. The mother lifts her arms into the air, and Luffy thanks the lapahn, running off toward the mountain. Chess and Kuromarimo stand up to the lapahn, but several more spring up, infuriating Wapol. At that moment, Luffy begins the long, difficult trek up the mountainside as the snow begins to blow harder. He comes to the foot of the mountain, looking at the straight up climb before him. With Nami tied to his back and Sanji's jacket held between his teeth, Luffy begins the long climb up the mountain.
Luffy's coat blows off as he climbs higher, his hands become red and chapped. Down below, Vivi lies motionless in the snow, when she turns to see Usopp's nose sticking out of the snow, looking very...inappropriate. She helps Usopp out of the snow, trying to wake him, but Usopp tells her not to wake him up as he talks about a dream of beautiful rivers. Vivi manages to batter Usopp back to life, but his head swells up like a berry as a result. Vivi and Usopp come across Zoro as he emerges from the snow. Zoro doesn't recognize Usopp at first. Meanwhile, Wapol, Chess, and Kuromarimo have triumphed over the lapahn. Luffy continues the difficult climb, but he ends up scraping up his fingers, causing him to cry out in pain. This causes him to drop Sanji, but Luffy stretches out his neck and manages to grab him with his teeth. Meanwhile, Zoro explains how he lost sight of the shoreline as he, Usopp, and Vivi return to Bighorn. There they see Wapol's soldiers standing against the villagers, and the soldiers say that Dalton is dead. Vivi, Usopp, and Zoro learn what's going on from the villagers, and the soldiers refuse to allow anyone to dig up Dalton. Zoro and Usopp recognize the soldiers from Wapol's ship.
As one soldier laughs, Zoro knocks the soldier out and takes his coat, putting it on and feeling nice and warm. Zoro runs through the crowd of soldiers, managing to grab three swords to use. He slashes through the soldiers easily using Takakami, and the villagers gape at Zoro's strength. The villagers proceed to dig for Dalton in the snow, hoping he is still alive. Meanwhile, Luffy continues the difficult climb, his hands and feet bleeding. He starts to slip and slide down the mountainside, but with excruciating pain he manages to stop himself. As he turns purple from the cold, he thinks how he is getting closer. Finally, he reaches the top, and the moment he does, he finds himself before a great castle. Saying that he made it, he passes out. As he does, he starts to slide back toward the edge of the mountain, but Heavy Point Chopper arrives and grabs Luffy's arm, preventing his fall. Chopper brings Luffy, Sanji, and Nami into the castle to be treated. Nami's disease is diagnosed as being Kestia. As Nami is in bed, she wakes up to find Chopper over by the table. She sits up and asks who Chopper is, causing Chopper to lose it and run to the doorway as the episode ends.
