Short Summary
Sanji and Luffy encounter more lapahn that start to cause an avalanche. Usopp and Vivi head for Gyasta as Dalton returns to Bighorn, challenging Wapol. He unveils the powers of his Ushi Ushi Fruit Model: Bison, but Chess strikes Dalton down with arrows. Sanji becomes injured in the avalanche to save Luffy and Nami, so Luffy carries both of them toward the mountain. After the avalanche washes over everything, Luffy encounters Wapol, who blames him for the avalanche.
In-Depth Summary
The episode begins with the avalanche beginning to come down the slope, forcing Sanji and Luffy to flee for their lives. Sanji spots a cliff, and so they run for it to get somewhere higher. However, the cliff turns out not to be high enough, and Sanji and Luffy are caught in the avalanche. Back in the village, the people are taking up arms and heading for Bighorn to help Dalton fight against the return of Wapol. Meanwhile, Usopp and Vivi head on their way to Gyasta, talking about how they need to tell Kureha to return to her castle so that Sanji and Luffy can deliver Nami to her. They head right past the sign pointing to Gyasta, as it is covered in snow, causing them to head the wrong way. Back in town, Wapol declares that everything in the country is his snack because he is the king. Kuromarimo reports that the Straw Hats are headed toward Drum Castle, but Wapol protests that there is no doctor in his castle. However, Kuromarimo continues to explain that Dr. Kureha has taken up residence in the castle, enraging Wapol. Wapol declares its time to return to the castle, but Dalton arrives, slashing Wapol across the chest with his round sword. Kuromarimo orders the Isshi-20 to fix up Wapol, and immediately he is healed of the wound caused by Dalton.
Dalton continues that Wapol denied the rest of the country any doctors for his own greedy reasons. Dalton declares that he and Wapol should leave the country together, as they have both done great wrongs. Wapol declares that if people want to be healed of their sicknesses, they will have to bow before him and beg him. Wapol orders that Dalton be killed, so Dalton uses the power of his Ushi Ushi Fruit Model: Bison, entering his half-human form and avoiding all of the shots fired at him. Dalton uses Fiddle Assault to slash through Wapol's men, and Dalton declares that Wapol deserves to be destroyed. At that moment, more villagers rush in to help Dalton. Chess strings three arrows in his bow, saying he knows Dalton's weakness. Chess fires the arrows at the townspeople, but Dalton leaps in the way, getting shot in the chest instead. Wapol, Kuromarimo, and Chess taunt as Dalton collapses to the ground. Outside the village, Vivi and Usopp gape that an avalanche is coming toward them. Zoro notices the avalanche as well, busy doing one-finger push-ups. The snow of the avalanche washes over Zoro.
Meanwhile, Luffy is sent flying into the air by the avalanche, Sanji caught in the snow below. Luffy stretches out his arm, grabbing Sanji's hand, and so they ride on a tree down the mountain. Sanji says in frustration that they're heading away from the mountain, just as they were reaching the foot, when suddenly several lapahn riding on logs start attacking. Luffy narrowly avoids each swing the lapahn take, but Luffy and Sanji find themselves careening toward a small cliff with stumps jutting out. Sanji throws Luffy into the air, and he ends up smashing into the stumps, falling into the snow and sliding down with it. Luffy stretches out his arms to grab onto a stump and hold on, and he tries to grab Sanji but is unsuccessful. In Bighorn, the people flee from the impending avalanche. Wapol, Kuromarimo, and Chess climb onto Robson's back, Robson extending his legs to get them away faster. On the trail, Vivi and Usopp flee from the avalanche, wondering if Luffy and Sanji will be okay. Wapol, Chess, and Kuromarimo end up getting caught up in the avalanche.
As the snow of the avalanche finally settles, Luffy lifts himself up onto the small cliff, putting down Nami and putting his coat over her. He tells Nami to stay alive and so jumps down, looking for Sanji. Elsewhere, Wapol emerges from underneath the snow by eating his way out, and he spits out Chess and Kuromarimo, who he acccidentally ate. Wapol theorizes that the Straw Hats caused the avalanche because of the grudge they bear against him. Wapol declares that they will head up to his castle and get revenge on the Straw Hats. Meanwhile, a baby lapahn tries to dig its mother out from underneath the snow, looking up to find Luffy approaching with Sanji under his arm and Nami on his back. Luffy pulls the mother lapahn out of the snow and continues on. Luffy declares that he will get Nami and Sanji to the castle, telling them both not to die. Coming up behind Luffy are Wapol, Chess, and Kuromarimo, riding on Robson. They stop in front of Luffy, and so Luffy and Wapol stare each other down as the episode draws to a close.
