In-Depth Summary
The episode begins with the Going Merry continuing toward Little Garden and Luffy wondering if it will snow. Vivi goes on to explain how the Grand Line is the most difficult sea in the world to navigate. Sanji comes with some drinks, and so the four guys with Carue sit down to drink. Usopp says he will make fishing gear, and they watch with joy at how fast Carue can chug down drinks. Vivi becomes irritated with their behavior, since a storm could come any minute, but Nami comes out and tells her to let them be. Vivi then starts to relax. Later, the Straw Hats see a dolphin leap out of the water, and it turns out to be very massive, larger than a building, leaping over the ship. The Straw Hats spring into action to flee from the giant dolphin, and Vivi is amazed at how quickly they work together. As the dolphin crashes back into the water once again, the Going Merry rides on a big wave to propel them quickly. Luffy then asks Nami about the course, and Nami has them turn hard to port. Soon, Little Garden appears on the horizon.
The scene shifts to Mr. 3 drinking some tea, sitting at a table with Miss Goldenweek at a sort of resort. Mr. 3 asks Miss Goldenweek about a paper that she's been looking at, and it turns out to be a report from Baroque Works. Mr. 3 finds out that Mr. 5 was taken out, though wishes it had been Mr. 2, since that would get them promoted. Mr. 3 goes on to say that Mr. 5 relies on his Devil's Fruit power too much, and that one must be able to fully master it. Mr. 3 then says that it is time to teach the enemies of Baroque Works a thing or two. The scene shifts back to Little Garden, where the Going Merry is just pulling in. Vivi says that they must be careful, and is still concerned with what Miss All Sunday told them. Usopp asks if there are going to be monsters, but they keep going anyway, heading down a river. Zoro points out the river mouth ahead when suddenly a large green bird descends upon the Going Merry and attacks Sanji. There is another noise, one like a volcano erupting. At that moment a giant tiger comes out of the jungle and roars at their ship, but it is suddenly struck down and killed. Nami decides they will stop the ship and just wait for the Log Pose to set, then leave as soon as possible.
As the Straw Hats stop the Going Merry, Luffy goes on about how great the jungle is, since it is full of meat and no vegetables. He decides to go on an adventure, and Nami sees it as futile to try and stop him. Luffy asks Sanji to make lunch for him, and so Vivi asks to go along with him to the surprise of the others. Vivi says that Carue will come along too, horrifying Carue. Before setting out, Sanji prepares lunches for Luffy and Vivi, and so Vivi rides on Carue's back as the two of them set out into the jungle. Zoro says that he will take a walk, and so he leaves the ship as well. Sanji tells Zoro that they are out of food, so Zoro should bring back some food for them. Zoro makes a snide remark about hunting things that Sanji couldn't, which enrages Sanji, and so their rivalry heats up as Sanji and Zoro decide to have a hunting contest. They set off, leaving Nami and Usopp alone on the ship, quite frightened. Nami runs into the cabin and starts searching through the books, looking for one on Little Garden.
Meanwhile, Luffy and Vivi stop to find an ammonite in the water, but there is a great rumbling that causes them to freeze. Sanji is then shown on his walk, saying to himself that he feels like he's being watched, and he finds a giant raptor-like dinosaur behind him. Sanji uses Collier Shoot to take out the dinosaur in one hit. Meanwhile, Zoro encounters a Triceratops, staring it down. Luffy and Vivi continue along to find a Brontosaurus eating some leaves, and Vivi mentions that Little Garden must be one of the prehistoric island since it is still in the Age of Dinosaurs. She explains that in the Grand Line, each island has been left to evolve in its own way, so some islands are much more advanced than others. Luffy propels himself at the dinosaur and starts climbing its neck. On the ship, Nami finally finds the book. At that time, the raptor Sanji is facing gets back up to attack, but Sanji kicks it down again. Zoro continues to stare down the Triceratops, mentioning it is a fellow Santoryu fighter, and so he draws his swords and cuts the beast down. The scene shifts to show a massive giant lumbering through the jungle, approaching the Going Merry, where Nami and Usopp turn to see the giant, and they scream. It is then explained from Nami's book that to the men of the island, it is like a "little garden", hence its name, and so the episode ends.
