Episode 65: Exploding Santouryu! Zoro vs Baroque Works!

Short Summary

Zoro squares off against the many bounty hunters of Baroque Works, and soon the hunters begin to think that it is Zoro with a 30 million bounty rather than Luffy. Zoro manages to take down Mr. 9, 8, Miss Monday, and Miss Wednesday, but then Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine arrive on the scene, revealing that Mr. 8 and Miss Wednesday are actually infiltrators from the kingdom of Arabasta.

In-Depth Summary

The episode opens with Zoro showing up in the middle of the group of bounty hunters. They open fire upon him, but Zoro disappears again and the bounty hunters end up shooting each other. Zoro appears being Mr. 8 and sticks his sword through his hair, so Mr. 8 fires his Igarappa bullets from his saxophone to knock away the bounty hunters ready to shoot. Mr. 9, Miss Wednesday, Mr. 8, and Miss Monday spring into action as Zoro ducks around a corner, recognizing them as threats. In the building, everyone is asleep except for Nami, who knows that the town is full of bounty hunters. Outside, Zoro talks about his chance to use his new swords, Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri, when a bounty hunter appears above him and shoots down with a pistol. Zoro leaps into the building and ducks behind a table to avoid the bulletfire, then uses Yubashiri to slash through the table and charge at the bounty hunters, taking all of them down. As Zoro runs through the street, he climbs up some stairs, but a guy fires a bazooka at him. Zoro narrowly avoids it. Miss Monday then hurls a barrel of wine at Zoro, who chops it with his sword to avoid it. Another hunter comes up behind Zoro to attack, but Zoro cuts him down.

A young child runs up to Zoro to attack, but as Zoro turns, a nun comes ans shelters the child. She then draws a sword to attack, but it fails as Zoro reappears behind them. Inside, several bounty hunters troop over Sanji, Luffy, and Usopp as Nami searches through the building, looking for treasure, though is quite unsuccessful. Back outside, the hunters climb up a ladder to get Zoro, but Zoro pushes the ladder over. He then leaps from the tipping ladder and lands among more armed hbounty hunters, using Hawk Wave to slash through them. As more hunters attack, Zoro cuts a whole, and they fall through it. He then ducks barely in time as Miss Monday swings a ladder at his head. She puts on brass knuckles and lifts him up by the throat, slammming him down and swinging her fist to strike him hard. However, Zoro clutches onto her face, and soon Miss Monday collapses. Zoro says the fight is a joke, asking the rest of Baroque Works if they want to continue. The other bounty hunters are shocked with Zoro's strength, and so Mr. 8, Mr. 9, and Miss Wednesday decide that the government made a mistake and Zoro must be the one with the 30 million berry bounty.

Mr. 9 begins to explain that in Baroque Works, a lower number means higher strength, but Zoro replies that the strongest will simply win. Mr. 8 then fires Igarappoi, and Miss Wednesday calls for Carue, her pet duck, climbing onto its back. However, Carue sits down. Mr. 9 then bounds down toward Zoro, whipping out two metal bats and using Hot-Blooded 9, but Zoro blocks it. Zoro uses one sword to easily fend off Mr. 9's attacks, who leaps backwards but accidentally leaps off the building and crashes to the ground. Miss Wednesday then appears and starts doing her Alluring Perfume Dance to try and gas Zoro, who falls to his knees. Miss Wednesday takes out her Peacock Slasher and charges at Zoro on Carue's back. However, Carue goes straight past Zoro and so they Wednesday and Carue careen right off the side of the building. Mr. 8 then appears, firing at Zoro from his saxophone, but Zoro leaps into a hole to avoid it. As he ducks around a building, Mr. 9 emerges from a pile of crates, and uses Home-Run Training Bat to swing a chain around Zoro's arm. He then tells Mr. 8 to kill Zoro.

At that moment, Miss Wednesday appears, holding a dagger and a very fat, asleep Luffy, and says that if Zoro makes a move, she will kill Luffy. Mr. 8 pulls on his necktie to reveal barrels within his curls, and attacks with Igarappappa. Zoro then pulls on the chain, swinging Mr. 9 forward, and Mr. 9 ends up colliding with Mr. 8's attack. Zoro runs forward, bounding off of Luffy's belly, and he slashes across Mr. 8's chest, knocking Mr. 8 down. Luffy awakes briefly, but falls back asleep. As other bounty hunters try to escape from Zoro, they run into the Unluckies, an otter and a vulture, and as they are about to attack the fleeing bounty hunters they stop to see two more figures arrive. As Miss Wednesday, Mr. 8, and Mr. 9 all lay in a heap, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine show up, criticizing their performance against Zoro. Mr. 5 explains that he and Miss Valentine were dispatched to take down major criminals on that island, as Baroque Works must remain a secret organization and someone has found out the secret. Miss Valentine explains that certain infiltrators within Baroque Works have found out the secret of Baroque Works, and this causes Mr. 8 to freak out, standing up and firing an Igarappappa upon Mr. 5 and Miss Wednesday. Mr. 8 declares he is Igaram, the captain of the royal guard of Arabasta, and Mr. 5 replies that he knows this, as well as Miss Wednesday being Nefertari Vivi, the princess of Arabasta. Zoro watches with a bottle of wine, saying things are getting interesting, as the episode ends.
