Short Summary
The Straw Hats, in their search for Lost Island to return Ryuuji to the Dragon's Nest, pass through a mirage and come upon an island with ruins of a temple upon it. They climb up to the summit to enter a temple built by the ancestors of the inhabitants of Warship Island.
In-Depth Summary
The episode begins with Marine soldiers rushing to repair their command ship off the coast of Warship Island. Erik says that the Straw Hats ran off to go find the legend of Lost Island and that they should follow. In the cabin, a Marine soldier prepares to send a message to Admiral Nelson, but Erik hangs up the Den Den Mushi. He heads off down the hall, saying to himself that he has searched for the Ryuukotsu for a long time and isn't about to give it up to a swine like Nelson. On a great Marine ship, Nelson sits upon his seat as a Marine soldier rushes in and tells him that Erik has spotted a Sennenryuu. Nelson becomes angry that Erik didn't tell him about it, so he orders that they set sail for Lost Island as well.
Aboard the Going Merry, Luffy talks to Ryuuji but can't get a response out of the old dragon. Apis rushes in with a pot full of food for him, but when Luffy stretches out his arms to grab it he burns his hands. The pot is sent flying and lands on Ryuuji's head, causing great pain, and Apis rushes to help. Apis then says that Ryuuji told her that Dragon's Nest, on Lost Island, is east of Warship Island. With this news, Luffy eagerly declares that they are to sail east for Lost Island. Meanwhile, Erik's ship has the Going Merry in sight, and they continue their pursuit. As the Going Merry continues along, Usopp tells Nami that the Lost Island is underwater and that it won't just rise to them, so he says that he will help more of Ryuuji's memory return by dropping a big weight on his head. Nami smacks Usopp in the arm, causing him to drop the weight on his foot. At the front of the ship, Luffy spots a smoky form in front of them, a reflection of their ship. As they come up to it, they pass through the reflection, and Erik and his soldiers are shocked to see the Going Merry disappear ahead of them.
The Straw Hats find themselves in a foggy area, and Nami says that it is a mirage caused by cold water and hot water mixing. In the fog, the waves crash hard on the ship, and the Straw Hats can barely hold on. Apis begs that she has to help Ryuuji, as he is stranded out back, but Zoro holds her back. Apis sees that the rope holding the raft is slipping, so she grabs it to hold it back. Zoro helps her, and Apis is surprised to see him do so. Luffy joins in, using Gomu Gomu no Lasso, and they manage to hold the raft from drifting away. Sanji spots a light in the distance, and realizes that is the eye of the typhoon. They emerge from the fog to find themselves in front of some sunken ruins at an island. The Straw Hats disembark onto the island, and Apis asks Ryuuji if he remembers this place. Ryuuji doesn't know, so Apis says that it might not be Lost Island. Luffy points to a summit at the center of the island and suggests they climb it so they can have a view of the entire island.
The Straw Hats rig up Ryuuji's cart and push it along as they head through some ancient ruins toward the summit. Along the way, Apis stops by a field of flowers to talk with some birds. Nami says that she'll fall behind, but Apis tells her that a bird said there is a dragon mark at the top of the summit. The bird rides on Apis' shoulder, leading the way. The Straw Hats reach the summit at last, and sure enough, there is a stone door with a dragon marking on it. Apis takes off her pendant from Ryuuji and sees that it matches a missing piece of the dragon mark. She can't reach it, so Luffy puts the pendant in for her. The ground beneath them suddenly collapses and the Straw Hats plunge into an underground chamber. They all look up at the ceiling, wondering what's on it as the episode draws to a close.
