In-Depth Summary
The episode opens with the bathroom of Baratie, where Patti is washing up. He goes on about customers being gods, and how they must be treated as such. As he steps out into the dining area, however, he is horrified to find Sanji holding up Fullbody by the throat. Patti and Sanji argue, and so Sanji finally drops Fullbody to the floor. Fullbody remains persistent and starts going off about how he will get the restaurant shut down by the government. This really sets off Sanji, and he has to be restrained by several chefs as he swears to kill Fullbody. The chaos is interrupted as Luffy comes crashing down through the ceiling, Zeff down with him. Zeff kicks Sanji in the face and knocks him down, furious that he would do such a thing to a customer. At that moment, a Marine soldier steps in, telling Fullbody that their captive aboard the ship has escaped. Fullbody is confused, as the prisoner has not been fed for three days, and the Marine soldier is shot in the back.
Into the restaurant walks Gin, a bloody wreck, and he sits down at a table, asking for something to eat. When Patti asks if he has money to pay for a meal, Gin points a gun at Patti's head. As Fullbody tiptoes away, Patti pounds Gin hard, smashing the table in the process. With great power he decimates Gin and throws him outside, then tells everyone in the restaurant to continue eating as before. Sanji heads back into the kitchen and so duties at Baratie resume. Luffy steps outside and sees Gin hunched over on the ground, wondering if he is hungry. Sanji steps out with a plate of fried rice and offers it to Gin, who is ashamed to take it, but does anyway and chows down. He is very grateful for his dish, and so Luffy decides that Sanji is the chef he wants for his crew. Sanji responds by asking why Luffy hit Baratie, and explains how Zeff is an ex-pirate-turned-cook, which is why Baratie seems so much like a pirate ship. He explains that the waiters fled due to fear of the fighting between the cooks and pirates. Luffy once again asks Sanji to join him and to come to the Grand Line, but Sanji refuses. Gin is horrified to hear about the Grand Line, telling Luffy not to go there.
In the kitchen, talk between the chefs turns to that of Don Krieg, as Gin is a member of Krieg's crew. Carne says how large Krieg's fleet is, 50 ships, and that if Gin tells Krieg what happened at the restaurant Krieg's crew could come and destroy Baratie. Patti and Carne start to get into an argument over what to do, but Zeff tells them to get back to work. Zeff then steps outside and watches Luffy and Sanji see Gin off, as Gin says that he owes his life to Sanji. Sanji tosses the utensils Gin used into the water and claims that he cannot get punished without evidence. Zeff then grabs Luffy, as it is time for LUffy to start working off his debt to Baratie. In the kitchen, Luffy starts washing dishes and hears from the other chefs that Zeff and Sanji fight quite often. Patti quickly notices that Luffy is breaking all of the dishes, so he tells Luffy to start sweeping. Luffy then asks if he should wash a wok on the oven, and as he grabs it he burns hies hand. Patti, frustrated, decides to make Luffy take orders instead.
As Luffy steps out, he spots his crew sitting at a table, laughing at him and asking for their meals. Luffy gets frustrated and flicks a booger from his nose into Zoro's drink. He has to choke back his laughter as he passes the glass to Zoro, who is about to drink it, but then pours it into Luffy's mouth. As Usopp and Nami are killing themselves laughing, Sanji spots Nami and runs over to her, and he says how it is too bad that there is an obstacle between them. Zeff then steps in, asking if that obstacle is him, and tells Sanji to become a pirate since they don't need him anymore. Elsewhere, Gin arrives on a small rocky fortress in his small boat, and steps into a room to meet with Don Krieg. He tells him about Sanji and Baratie as the episode draws to a close.
