Episode 140: Inhabitants of Neverland! The Pumpkin Pirates!
Luffy, Usopp, and Robin investigate Ape's Concert in their own ways while Zoro sleeps on. Henzo explains he's searching for a way to get his friends back. Luffy and Usopp find some treasure, but shortly thereafter, a voice calls out, demanding they all return the treasure and leave lest they be cursed by the dead. When Luffy calls them out, "ghosts" in white sheets show up, and Zoro is almost shot with an arrow. Robin points out the arrow's true path, and Luffy uncovers a live boy (named Akibi) who Usopp shoots into the water. A little girl (named Isoka) and another boy (named Longo) jump out. Isoka tries to slice Henzo with a sword, but Luffy gently thwarts her.
Shortly after, another boy (named Lapanui) appears and claims the chest and the area in the name of the Pumpkin Pirates. He threatens them with a bomb. Meanwhile, Henzo is speechless at the sight of these kids. He eventually reveals that he knows the kids as his old playmates, and as Lapanui threatens to detonate the bomb, Henzo reveals it as a fake that he himself created called Boom #3. Lapanui uses it as a smoke bomb; all four kids escape, and Zoro awakens.
The scene then flashes back to when Henzo was a kid, swimming off Ruluka Island and dreaming of becoming a pirate with the same kids in Ape's Concert. Henzo narrates that tale to the crew, as well as another tale of when the Tyrielshin first appears and Ruluka conflagrates at the hands of the Whetton Pirates. The kids cross paths with a pirate wielding a large axe, and Lapanui orders them to steal a ship, but the only one left is the Tyrielshin, so they steal it. The pirate catches up to them on the ship, but they attempt to fight him off. As they battle, the pirate destroys the helm as he takes aim at another pirate who was on board, and the ship heads towards the Rainbow Mist. Despite their best attempts, the kids can't fend off the pirate until Henzo dive bombs him off the ship and into the water, leaving behind a few Boom #3s. With no helm, the ship sails helplessly into the Rainbow Mist, leaving Henzo behind. As Henzo ends his story, the crew realizes they have to get back lest the same thing happen to them that happened to Henzo and his friends.
Meanwhile, Sanji struggles on against Reik, and as Reik takes aim at Sanji, Pasqua flicks a coin at Reik. Reik takes the coin as Sanji's payment of the "Harbor Tax" and then tells them about the Rainbow Mist and the treasure within, at which point Nami resolves to enter the Mist. At that moment, Mayor Whetton appears and forbids them from entering the Mist from his city.
