Episode 136: Zenny Lives on Goat Island and There's a Pirate Ship on His Mountain
Luffy and his crew are still being pursued by the Marines, but no one besides Nami seems to care. The Straw Hat Pirates enter a rocky area of the sea, and the Marines cannot pursue any further. However, Luffy and company clear the area easily and land on an island. Upon landing, a young goat is spotted by all, and after a short chase, they are all surrounded by rams. Chopper reveals that the goats are not evil, and at that moment, an old man falls from a tree.
This man despises pirates, and after Zoro induces a mild cardiac arrest in the old man, they take him home and agree to chop wood and draw water for him. Chopper later finds that the old man spent 20 years alone with the indigenous goats, right before the man starts bossing the crew around. Meanwhile, Zoro leaves to hunt and finds a pirate ship on a mountaintop. The crew works well into the night, and Zoro returns with food and news of the pirate ship. Upon seeing it, they determine that the old man began building it on the island, and Nami speculates that the old man is hiding some treasure and sought to escape the island on this ship. The scene then shifts to the local Marine HQ, where Captain Moore chews out the Commanding Officer (CO) of the fleet that lost Luffy and calls for a landing crew to capture them.
The CO neglected to mention the island Luffy landed on and explains to his second in command, a Corporal, that the Marines are covering up the fact that the Straw Hat Pirates defeated Crocodile and saved Arabasta. He reasons that no amount of men could take those pirates. The action goes back to Chopper, who announces to the crew that the old man has 3 days to live and will not leave before then. As a result, the next morning, the Straw Hats fix an extravagant breakfast for the old man, who then warms up to them. The happy scene turns to the local Marine HQ, where the CO realizes that the old man is in fact Zenny, a dying pirate with a huge hoard of treasure. The CO plots to take the treasure, and the episode ends with Luffy admiring Zenny’s voracious appetite.
